Syrup in the City

Saturday March 24th 2018 at 10:00am - 1:00pm
John McCrae Public School

Syrup in the City is Guelph’s Community Maple Syrup Festival!  It is a joint event between John McCrae Public School, Transition Guelph, and the Community Environmental Leadership Program of the Upper Grand District School Board.  Last year was our first year and we had nearly 1000 visitors to this family friendly event.  Visitors came to the school to see hands on demonstrations of pioneer logging techniques, maple syrup making, puppet shows, and musical performances.  The students also served a pancake breakfast in the gym to raise money to purchase new maple trees for the school yard.

Attractions new this year include:

Mountsberg Raptors Centre Birds of Prey show from 10am-1pm.  The birds will be available for viewing and there will be two shows.

The Funky Mama’s musical performance from 11:30am- 12:15pm in the library.

Tables featuring Guelph Urban Forest Friends, the Guelph Hiking Trail Club, the City of Guelph Parks Department, and more!

Maple syrup products for sale by Snyder Heritage Farms.
