Hawthorn Farm Organic Seeds. Hawthorn Farm produces certified organic, farm selected, open-pollinated, vegetable, herb, and flower seed in Central Ontario. Certified organic by Pro-Cert since 1996, Hawthorn Farm started as most independent seed companies do, on a kitchen table with a single page printed catalogue filled by a handful of offerings. With over a decade of growing, selecting and saving organic seeds, we now have hundreds of exciting and tasty offerings. In addition, we work to support the seed community by hosting workshops and educational tours on our farm. We are passionate about seed, and believe strongly that access to high quality seed grown for Canadians in Canada to the best of our abilities helps to build a more secure resilient food system.

Zocalo Organics is a small family farm with 3 employees and 2 interns who help us grow amazing food in our low-till ecological gardens and greenhouses. We sell at the Guelph Farmer’s Market and through weekly and bi-weekly vegetable boxes in our CSA program (and to local restaurants!). Please consider supporting our small farm by doing the following: 1. Sharing this post! 2. Consider buying a CSA share for yourself OR to donate to a community member in need (in partnership with the Two Rivers Neighbourhood Group) 3. Buy a Market Share from us (10% of the proceeds of all Market Shares sold in 2020 goes to the Unistoten Camp Legal Fund to show our support of Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs) 4. Or visit us with cold hard cash from April to November at the Guelph Farmer’s Market 🙂 We believe the work of ecological farmers is vital to the health of our community. Farmers face many struggles to accomplish their goals and do their work. Making a big or small effort to support our farm can go a long way in ensuring that we can do our work towards creating greater resiliency for our community and our planet. Thank you for your continued support and help! zocaloorganics.ca/shop.
